Who Knows whats wrong with me, i don’t know enough about diabetes to know if i have any possibility of having it. i just need to know about the symptoms, i’m not looking for someone to diagnose me.

they say that you’ll feel thirsty all day, dry mouth.. you also urinate really a lot.. if you get cut/wounds, it’ll take longer time to heal..

Does anyone know what foods to avoid if you suspect someone has Type 2 Diabetes? Also, what foods to definitely consume that will help with the weight loss/whatever else is needed?

avoid sugar; starchy foods like bread, pasta, potatoes; fruits (because of the sugar content); alcohol, because it metabolizes as pure sugar. try eating lots of non-starchy veggies, like celery, carrots, cucumbers, lettuce; low-fat meats, sea foods, fish; cheese, low or reduced sugar yogurts, milk. the adkins diet and south beach diets are very diabetic friendly. i hope that you are getting a doctor’s opinion/diagnosis before you do anything else, especially if type 2 is suspected. it’s not anything to play around with and you need to be educated about how to live with it. best of luck to you!

I think I might have diabetes. I’m going to go to the doctor real soon. Until then I have a question i’d like answered. Can anyone tell me, that has Type 1 Diabetes, what lead you to believe you have it, like i researched a little bit and most of the things said alot of time people get had an illness of some sort that triggered it or something. Any help is greatly appreciated. Sorry about the bad grammar and punctuation.

You are right for the most part, usually Type 1 (also known as Juvenile onset, or Insulin Dependant Diabetes), is generally contracted by individuals with a genetic disposition to having it in the first place, (basically this means that usually their genes were programmed with diabetes in the first place), however they ususally do not actually contract diabetes until they are a few years old, usually following a stressful or traumatic situation such as an infection, injury, or environmental change like loss of family, and their immune system attacks the Beta cells in the Islets of Langerhans in the pancrease which produce the body’s insulin, leading to the person getting diabetes.
Another less common way for someone to contract diabetes is for them to suffer a traumatic injury to their pancrease or contract a pancreatic disease such as pancreatitis or Pancreatic Cancer, or suffer something like a car crash which damages the pancrease itself, causing the pancrease to fail to function properly and not produce insulin anymore, however this is very uncommon.

Also, if someone answers that it’s caused by eating sweets or obesity, don’t listen to them, they’re thinking of Type 2 (also known as Adult onset, or Non-Insulin Dependent diabetes), type 1 diabetes has almost no relation to weight or dietary habits.

how many Types of Diabetes’s are there and what are signs of being a diabetic

basically there are two types – 1 produces no insulin and 2 can not utilize the insulin properly.
However, there are also subtypes of both (such as type 1a).

Gestational diabetes can occur while a woman is pregnant.

You will hear the terms type 1 1/2 and type 3 occassionally. There’s still a lot of confusion on what these mean (different forum members make different claims).

some type 1s can also have difficulty utilizing insulin (which means they also have type 2) and some type 2s do not produce enough Insulin. I’ve heard both of these called type 1 1/2.

There’s a small group who prefer IDDM and NIDM rather that type 1 and 2, but that would make type 1 1/2 read ID/NIDM or IDIRDM or NIIRDM, and, well, that just looks much more complicated to remember doesn’t it?

My dad died at 45 of a heart attack and my grandpa died of a heart attack at 44. is it bad for me to take ectasy even if im healthy and work out alot and eat right?

It’s bad for you to take Ecstasy at all, you idiot.

I need to know what kind of conflicts a person in the age group 46-65 recently diagnosed with diabetes has with a medical setting.

I’m not sure what you mean by conflicts. Do you mean what issues might someone of that age argue with medical staff about? It’s very difficult and complicated, so that can cause frustration, and many are in denial as well.
