I have a 3 year old chihuahua she loves i cream so i’m worry that she may have diabetes, She’s getting spay next month thas way i’m concern. Thank you
Symptoms of Diabetes include excessive drinking and urinating (not dissimilar to signs of kidney trouble). Also occasional bouts of lethargy as blood sugar levels go up and down. You can get your vet to do a fairly inexpensive blood test to check for this when she’s spayed.
My guess however is that your dog is not diabetic – I mean, who doesn’t love cream! I’d limit the cream intake if I were you, it’s more likely to cause diarrhoea, and 95% likely to cause obesity!

OR… What link exists between type 2 diabetes and lifestyle?
There are two main Types of Diabetes. These are:
Type 1 diabetes and Type 2 Diabetes
Type 1 diabetes develops if the body is unable to produce any insulin. This type of diabetes usually appears before the age of 40. Type 1 diabetes is the least common of the two main types and accounts for between 5 – 15% of all people with diabetes.
Type 2 diabetes develops when the body can still make some insulin, but not enough, or when the insulin that is produced does not work properly (known as Insulin resistance). In most cases this is linked with being overweight. This type of diabetes usually appears in people over the age of 40, though in South Asian and African-Caribbean people often appears after the age of 25. However, recently, more children are being diagnosed with the condition, some as young as seven. Type 2 diabetes is the most common of the two main types and accounts for between 85 – 95% of all people with diabetes.
So if you are overweight you are more likely to get Type 2 diabetes. However recent research shows you can improve the condition by eating healthy chocolate from xocai which contains all the anti-oxidents you will ever need! See websites below for more information.
I have been assigned a paper to write about anything health-related, and I have decided to write my paper on Type 1 Diabetes. My three year old cousin was diagnosed with T1 last year, and I would like to know if there are any parents/grandparents/siblings of those with this type of diabetes. Please answer this question with serious intentions! Thank you!
First off I am sorry to hear about your cousin. I am a type 1 diabetic, i was diagnosed at age 29 which is strsnge. Of all diabetics 90 % are type 2 only 10 % are type 1 and of those 10 % about 95 % get it before their late teen years, I must just be lucky. I do feel lucky,
lucky it was me and NOT my kids (age 8 & 10 at that time)
lucky I was not a young child when I got it putting my parents through the hell and struggles of shots and all that.
Lucky that I live in a time where we have Insulin, and good rapid insulin and test meters.
Lucky that there is only a 3 to 5% chance my kids can get it.
So hopefully my insight has helped you
I am looking for information about what types of friuts are good for people with diabetes. I am wondering what types of fruits are not to high in sugar.
It’s always good to mix a protein (something like cheese) with fruit then it burns slowers and won’t flood the blood with sugar at a fast rate. But some fruits should be avoided….
Look up Low GI foods — here is a link which might help.

Click on Fruits – and it will show you which fruits are LOW GI, therefore safer to eat in moderation for diabetics.
4 wks ago was diagnosed with pre-diabetes; 56 y/o North American caucasian F/. No family hx of diabetes; FBS 123; A1c 6.5; BMI <20. Never over weight. I eat a lot of grains; I do not eat enough fruits and vegetables. Do not eat fried foods, meat, or junk food. Drink cow’s milk for years. Walk a LOT– no car.. Any ideas of cause of pre-diabetes?
I am a 45 yr old male that was just diagnosed with pre-diabetes as well.
I wish I had known sooner to be honest.
My Dr. now is treating me as if I have full diabetes. She mentioned my weight is probably partly to blame. I am 6′2 and 240lbs…but my frame is large. I would like to drop off 20 lbs however.
My sugar levels have been at the highest 142. I am currently taking metformin X-2 a day. Plus lisiniprol to protect my kidney’s.
I was adopted so family history is out….I don’t smoke or drink and don’t eat much sweets either.
I want to get it under control. I work in a hospital now and see many dialysis patients come in and don’t want to have to do that.
Besides, diabetes can cause other worse things as well.
Looks like we are in the same boat! Good luck!
I have a friend that drinks alcohol (not the hard stuff) but he has diabetes. I don’t know what to do because I’m really close to this friend. He always reacts the worst to me out of everyone only when he drinks. I just need some help on how to deal with him and what happens to him with it? Plus how can I get him to stop drinking. Oh I should add that he drinks a 12 pack of Natural Light.
The blood sugar rises (because of the carbs) then falls. Its the livers job to get rid of the alcohol, but its also the livers job to release some of the sugar it stores when the blood sugar goes too low (note: it doesnt release enough sugar to come out of a low, so thats why a diabetic needs to eat or drink something). the liver will only perform one of those functions at a time, and the livers first priority is to get rid of the alcohol…which means it wont release that little bit of sugar to help with the low. A diabetic should eat something when they drink alcohol to help prevent the low.
I’m curious since I read that consumptoin of high fructose will produce Insulin in your body. And that insulin is one reason why you feel sleepy after drinking soda or eating sugary jam.

Lately i have been showing the symptoms for Type 1 Diabetes, and it has been going on this last month.
But my question is for people who have been diagnosed with type 1 diabetes, What was it like when you first thought you had this decease? How did you feel at the time and what were some of the big signs that you had it? PLEASE BE VERY DETAILED
Thank you very much.
Frequent Urination. I’m talking i’ll just go to the and then 30 seconds later i’ll need to go again.
Shaking. So bad it’s difficult to write.
Tiredness. Really tired
Vomiting. Like once a day
Ok i just took a blood test 2 weeks ago it was 112 after non-fasting. I am currently cutting down on sugary foods and am excercising everyday. I have an overactive bladder but not excessevely thirsty (thankyou jesus). Ok i just want to know that do you have to experience all the symptoms to have diabetes?? Pay attention to the word all……..
Thanks
You are doing good by cutting your carbs as it will prevent you from being diabetic
Random blood sugar of 112 is Ok .
Most of the the diabetic patients dont have all the symptoms , the best way to diagnose is to have the OGTT (Oral gucose tolerance test ) it will give you a better idea of being normal, prediabetic or diabetic
HbA1C will tell you how well you have managed your blood glucose levels in the past three months.

i was jus curious on the difference between type 1 and 2 diabetes and the effects cause the internet has all these medical answers i juss want a simple answer..thanx
Type 2 can be treated with proper diet, medication, and exercise, because your body produces some insulin.
Type 1 can only be treated with Insulin injections because your pancreas does not produce any insulin at all. ————————
