I think I could be pregnant but I am not 100% sure, but my brother was recently diagnosed with diabetes and some of the symptoms are the same. Is it possible to get these two confused?

Well, some symptoms are the same – like being thirsty and needing to pee a lot, although this tends to happen later in the pregnancy because the baby is pressing on the bladder. Fainting is also a sign of both.

However, there are also a lot of symptoms that don’t overlap and I personally haven’t heard of anyone thinking they were one and found they were the other. Your best bet is to take a pregnancy test and if it comes out negative go and see your GP, who will do a blood test and then you can get a definitive answer one way or the other.

Go to your doctor asap. You seem to have some of the symptoms, others being always thirsty.

She eats healthy and the daycare checks for fever each time this happens. She is not cold either..there is no goosebumps. I don’t know her fathers side of medical history and i’m just concerned this could be something more serious like signs of epilepsy or diabetes..anyone else have this occuring with there children?

I will say you to take her to doctor at soonest convenience. She could be having hypoglycemia

5.) How long would it take for the wounds of a diabetic to heal? Would it be possible that it wouldn’t heal?

6.) Can a diabetic feel tired or unwell even if he/she does nothing? How much work can a diabetic do before he/she gets tired?

7.) What does "sudden" vision changes mean?

8.) Does a person have to have all the symptoms before he/she is pronounced to have diabetes? If not, what are the main symptoms?

These are all my concerns about diabetes. It would be better if your answer/s rely on other’s or your experience/s.

1 and 2 depend’s on the diabetic’s level. As it goes up they increase with me but also i have heard with other’s when it goes down the same thing happen’s

3 it really depend’s on the age, it’s pretty much normal. But i have heard that high’s and Low’s will affect them, but not with me.

4 Not sure how this relate’s….. High’s can effect Weight. I used to wake up at 400 and vomit and lost way too much weight and went down to about 60 Pound’s at ( year’s of age

5 Same thing, High’s can make it harder for wound’s to heal. It has really never happened to me

6 Yes when i get High, I cannot run as much without getting more tired. When i get low i feel very vauge and tired or limp from the Low sign’s. But mostly it’s normal what a Diabetic can do campaired to a normal person

7 This happened to me i was 20/20 and my diabetie’s got out of control i went back because i was having trouble seeing and it went down to 20/60 or something like that.

8 No, not all of the symptom’s at all, some may show but not all of them. Some symptom’s are……

Being mean/Uritible ( SP? )

More often than not… none. I had no noticeable symptoms at all. My type two was discovered during a routine physical.

There was a question here on answers a few days ago asking what your reading was when you were diagnosed. Judging by the other answers, which were several times higher than my numbers, I would say that most people go for years undiagnosed. As I look back, I did have mild symptoms for a couple of years prior to being diagnosed. Tired and grumpy come to mind. Most of these people who are citing these symptoms are either repeating what they’ve heard or read in a book or on a website, or were so far advanced that the symptoms were more pronounced. It comes on so gradually, that most folks don’t even notice the symptoms for years. Read this:

There is not an exact finding as to why and how diabetes occur but symptoms are listed below:-
n both the Types of Diabetes, signs and symptoms are more likely to be similar as the blood sugar is high, either due to less production of Insulin, or no production or insulin resistance. In any of the case if there is inadequate glucose in the cells, it can be identified through certain signs and symptoms. These symptoms are quickly relieved once the Diabetes is treated and also reduce the chances of developing serious health problems.

Diabetes Type 1:

In type 1, the pancreas stop producing insulin, due to autuimmune response or possibly viral attack on pancreas. In absence of insulin, body cells does not get glucose for producing ATP (Adenosin Triphosphate) units which results into primary symptom in the form of nausea and vomiting. In latter stage which leads to ketoacidosis in which body starts breaking down muscle tissue and fat for energy, there is consequently fast weight loss. Dehydration is also usually observed due to electrolyte disturbance. In advance stages even coma and death, are being witnessed.

Diabetes Type 2:

* Increased fatigue : Due to inefficiency of cell to metabolise glucose, reserve fat of body is metabolised to gain energy. When fat is broken down in the body, it uses more energy as compared to glucose, hence body goes in negative calorie effect, which results in fatigue.
* Polydipsia : As the concentration of glucose increases in the blood, brain receives signal for diluting it and in its counteraction we feel thirsty.
* Polyuria: Increase in urine production is the result seen when excess of glucose is present in body. Body tries to get rid of the extra sugar in the blood by excreting it through the urine. This can also lead to dehydration because excreting the sugar which carries a large amount of water out of the body along with it.
* Polyphegia : The hormone insulin is also responsible for stimulating hunger. In order to cope up with high sugar levels in blood, body produces insulin which leads to increased hunger.
* Weight flactuation : Factors like loss of water (polyuria), glucosuria , metabolism of body fat and protein may lead to loss of weight. Few cases may show weight gain due to increased appetite.
* Blurry vision : Hyperosmolar hyperglycemia nonketotic syndrome is the condition when body fluid is pulled out of tissues including lenses of eye, which affects the ability of lenses to focus resulting in blurry vision.
* Irritability : It is one of the sign of high blood sugar because of the inefficient supply of glucose to brain and other body organs, which makes us feel tired and uneasy.
* Infections : Certain signals from the body is given whenever there is fluctuation of blood sugar (due to suppression of immune system) by frequent infections of fungal or bacterial like skin infection or UTI (urinary tract infection).
* Poor wound healing : High blood sugar resists the flourishing of WBC, (white blood cell) which are responsible for body immune system. When these cells do not function accordingly, wound healing is not at good pace. Secondly, long standing diabetes leads to thickening of blood vessels which may affect proper circulation of blood in different body parts.

Symptoms of Diabetes include excessive drinking and urinating (not dissimilar to signs of kidney trouble). Also occasional bouts of lethargy as blood sugar levels go up and down. You can get your vet to do a fairly inexpensive blood test to check for this when she’s spayed.

My guess however is that your dog is not diabetic – I mean, who doesn’t love cream! I’d limit the cream intake if I were you, it’s more likely to cause diarrhoea, and 95% likely to cause obesity!

You are doing good by cutting your carbs as it will prevent you from being diabetic

Random blood sugar of 112 is Ok .
Most of the the diabetic patients dont have all the symptoms , the best way to diagnose is to have the OGTT (Oral gucose tolerance test ) it will give you a better idea of being normal, prediabetic or diabetic

HbA1C will tell you how well you have managed your blood glucose levels in the past three months.

Oh-I have googled this info several times and found out what the basic symptoms are-BUT I am wanting to know your personal experiences with it.

I had GD and the only symptom I had was extreme blurred vision. I was trying to read the back of a package at Wal-mart and no matter where I held the package I COULD NOT read it, it was completely blurry. It just so happened that I was to take the test the next day, but, I already knew the answer. Do you have GD? If you do, try not to worry. I followed the doctors orders and ate right and watched my blood sugar. I only had to take a small amount of Insulin at the very end of my pregnancy and my baby weighed only 6 lbs. and is perfect. Good luck!
