He is not exactly famous like Nick Jonas but he was in the movie Peter Pan name is Harry Eden and he has dyslexic.

Bethany Hamilton – Bethany Meilani Hamilton (born February 8, 1990) is an American surfer. She is known for surviving a shark attack in which she lost her left arm, and for overcoming the serious and debilitating injury to return to surfing. On October 31, 2003, Hamilton went for a morning surf along Tunnels Beach, Kauai. Around 7:10 a.m., she was lying sideways on her surfboard with her left arm dangling in the water, when a tiger shark attacked her, ripping her left arm off just below the shoulder. Just eight weeks after the incident, she returned to her board and went surfing again. In July of 2004 Hamilton won the ESPY Award for Best Comeback Athlete of the Year. She was presented with a special courage award at the 2004 Teen Choice Awards. Hamilton still aspires to become a professional surfer.

to clarify–there are various definitions of ‘disability’

things like diabetes and asthma and allergies can be considered ‘disabilities…..but the person may not consider themselves to be ‘disabled’

people with these conditions would be protected by the Americans With Disabilities Act—and may have accommodations at work or school..

there are many levels of disability-
from chronic health problems
learning disabilities
being blind in 1 eye (minimal) like me or deaf in 1 ear—-that have limited impact in daily life

to having autism, cogntive impairment, needing a wheelchair, being blind or deaf bilaterally

Diabetes IS a medical condition. Diabetes IS a disease.

Diabetes is NOT a Disability. Mainstream society does NOT perceive a person with Diabetes to be a PWD / Disabled PWD. A person with Diabetes CAN PASS in mainstream society as a Non-PWD (Outsider). I do NOT consider a person with Diabetes to be a PWD / Disabled PWD.

Christopher Joseph Burke (Chris Burke) has Down Syndrome and used to play Charles "Corky" Thatcher on the television series called "Life Goes On" which is no longer on television.

Just because Nick Jonas has diabetes, that does not mean he is disabled. How do I know? I have type 1 (juvenile) diabetes and I am not in any way disabled. Don’t feel sorry for Nick Jonas…he is only one of millions that live with a disease…like I do. I have had it for many years and I’m healthy.

I just deal with my diabetes and live with it. I use an insulin pump and do all I can to take care of myself and stay healthy. That is not a disability.

Even being deaf does not mean I’m disabled.
