    I am a certified …
I am a certified diabetes educator and information such as this is very misleading. THERE IS NO CURE for type 1 diabetes. She must have had an acute onset of hyperglycemia ( over 500 mg/dl ) and they treated her with INSULIN to bring down her blood sugar. I am sure they kept her on supplemental blood sugar until she got a handle on her diet and exercise. We have no idea if she was taking medications that cause hyperglycemia ( corticosteroids, antidepressants, diuretics, diet pills).

    That is actually …
That is actually true, I’m type 1 diabetic and know you can’t get rid of by taking loads of ionsulin, that would kill you. She must have something very special and not the regular juvenile diabetes, otherwise I would change to type 2 if it was actually possible.

    Look up Sergei …
Look up Sergei Boutenko. Good stuff. :)

  • bigpinkears says:

Like I said, if you …
Like I said, if you did your homework, you would know better. Nonetheless, have fun, child.
    :-D

  • SaraBarros says:

    There is a diabetes …
There is a diabetes type 2 with a juvenil on-set. That’s probably her case.

  • Grondhog says:

    your a …
your a dumbass. if your type 1 you can’t get off insulin. you would develop keytones and eventually die. stupid shit

  • Grondhog says:

  • Grondhog says:

  • macags20 says:

she couldnt of been type1 you cant ween youreself off injections youd die

  • immza says:

    she can’t have ever …
she can’t have ever been type 1, she would always have been type 2! when I was in my honeymoon period I still had to have insulin but I understand you dont always have to . its time type 1 and type 2 wern’t both called diabetes. people automatically think we’ve done something wrong if we have diabetes.

  • flybreath says:

    I can feel deeply …
I can feel deeply for anyone watching this and understand their anger – it is horrible to have to inject – instead of giving parrot like responses don’t you think a more informative, evidenced based vid with facts and figures should follow this one ? This is obviously upsetting to many and may encourage dangerous behaviour in the optimistic and before you paste your little url and tell me to watch it – I have – I’m saying it’s worth looking into so do more on it please

  • deathratdeath says:

  • renka1254 says:

this gets me so mad …
this gets me so mad. shes diabetic, in the public eye, and very misinformed. you dont WEAN off of insulin. she was never type 1. you dont go back and forth. she was a type 2 taking insulin and obvioulsy gained control by diet and exercise!

for the facts look up the joslin diabetes clinic in boston ma

  • bigpinkears says:

    Too bad you haven’t …
Too bad you haven’t done yours. Your body might surprise you.

  • bigpinkears says:

    Not necesarily true …
Not necesarily true. But if you wish to continue believing that what you’ve been told is sound science, I cannot persuade you otherwise.

  • bau06109 says:

    there diffrent due …
there diffrent due to the source, type 2 is a result of fluctuating glucose levels that stop beta cells responding, type 1 is considered a combination of viral trigger and several genes that contribute an increased risk of the condition, SHE is TYPE 1, she is propably on a extremley low carbohydrate diet (pseudo atkins) that allows here to oveerlook insulin altogether this propably is not that halthy long term.

  • NaughtyKitty23 says:

    she needs to look …
she needs to look up the definition of type 1 and type 2… they are different. as a type 1 you can live without taking insulin if your in a honeymoon period like i am, but once your dependent it doesn’t change. your fucked.

  • Litenz says:

    Bah, as a type 1 …
Bah, as a type 1 diabetic you can’t magically “change” to become a type 2… it’s two different diseases.
She must have been type 2 from the start. As a type 2 you might need insulin, but if you change your lifestyle i.e. exercise and eat healthy you can manage without insulin injections.

  • sarahlovestoby says:

    could she be more …
could she be more misinformed? None of what she said makes sense!

  • sarahlovestoby says:

if u are type one …
if u are type one and in the honeymoon period, your pancreas has obviously not completely quit producing insulin. Once it does, you too will have to take insulin. I went through the same thing.

  • AbqStephanie says:

    I am a type 1 …
I am a type 1 diabetic {YES I am so please don’t tell me that I was misdiagnosed} and I am currently on my honeymoon period. During this time, I have managed to control my BG with diet & exercise which = no insulin for over a year now. I respect all you type ones who have to take insulin on a day to day basis but please stop saying halle is wrong and open your minds a little bit. She is not the only type one who is not taking insulin.

  • dancinpolarbear117 says:

    I am a type one …
I am a type one diabetic and im sorry HAlle but you obviously were never a type 1 diabetic if you could “wean” yourself off insulin. Type 1 means your pancreas is shot.. it doesnt produce insulin so if i “weaned” myself off of my synthetic insulin i would surely go into a coma and die. Type 1 diabetics should not listen to her, it gives them false facts and could cause people to take risks with their own health.

  • frazier707 says:

    Unfortunately I …
Unfortunately I can’t “wean” myself off of insulin, as I have no functioning pancreas.

Halli, you really needed to do your homework before you spoke…..
