    is there any …
is there any possibility that my friend is now having diabetes if he acquired skin disease which has almost the same appearance as athlete’s foot between the fingers on his foot.?

  • HadesOnEarth says:

    Rankin, which type …
    Rankin, which type are you?

    I am assuming Type 1.

I tend to feed my insulin. You have to be careful of that else you can gain weight.

  • rankinreddevils says:

I use to think it …
I use to think it was cool but now im off since i have to keep it up and feel like i am gaining weight.

  • rankinreddevils says:

Its been two and a …
Its been two and a half weeks since i have taken my medicine. I am always at 65 and this past week have not gotten over 85 when i eat bad food. If i didnt than i would go low. Sooner or later i get low .I went to the doctor and diabetes center and they told me not to take any insulin and keep my sugar up. They said obviousley i am producing some form of insulin and maybe my pancreas is honey mooning and working overtime.I have another appointment this week but its still the same thing.

    like what? I know …
like what? I know that you can go low with only insulin injections. But if you read what the other guy said, you would understand. He or she said that he/she was diabetic, and had been taking insulin up until last monday. He/ she said that he/she went low when he/she took the same amount of insulin that he/she had always taken. That suggests that that person stared making insulin again.

  • HadesOnEarth says:

    Rankin,

    You may …
    Rankin,

    You may be “honeymooning” then.

That means your pancreas may still be producing some insulin.

  • rankinreddevils says:

    No dude i wasnt …
No dude i wasnt kidding. I have not taken my medicine in easiliy two weeks and do not get over 85 when i eat horrible. If i ate the way i am suppose to i will get low so i eat alot of sweets, oranges, and apples to keep my sugar up.

    Thank you!

    There is a handy …
There is a handy rule many diabetics may not use. If you are low, use the 15/15 rule.

Treat with 15 carbs, wait 15 mins, test. Repeat if necessary.

  • HadesOnEarth says:

Do you mind if I …
Do you mind if I send you a URL to a great forum for diabetics?

    It’s on my profile actually.

Just a great community for Type 1, 2, 1.5, LADA and pre-diabetics, and people in general, and family of diabetics.

Check it out… Great people. I wouldn’t suggest it if it wasn’t such a great tool for myself.

My nick is Delphinus there, if you would like to look me up, if you decide to check it out.

    Take care DG…

  • HadesOnEarth says:

    Yes…

    You seemed …
    Yes…

You seemed to have some flawed facts about insulin use tho.

  • DiabetesGirl3145 says:

    Yeah, I do. Do you?
    Yeah, I do. Do you?

  • HadesOnEarth says:

    Exactly!

    Exactly!

Injecting isn’t an exact science and people who use insulin frequently go low.

    Sometimes you over correct, etc.

    It happens.

Do you have Type 1? If so, you would understand.

  • DiabetesGirl3145 says:

    no, you don’t, but …
no, you don’t, but if a person was taking insulin, and his/hers blood sugars were being controlled, and then they took the same amount of insulin, and got low, then that person obviously is making more insulin then he/she was before.

  • HadesOnEarth says:

    If you are …
If you are producing insulin, like if you are Type 2, you would just use less insulin if you were using it.

Everyone knows you can go low where insulin is involved, but your pancreas doesn’t have to also be producing it to have lows.

  • DiabetesGirl3145 says:

    If you are …
If you are producing insulin alredy, and then you inject insulin, you will go low.

  • HadesOnEarth says:

    That is so …
That is so literally wrong. Are you serious?

Your body doesn’t need to be producing insulin, to go low. The insulin you inject would create lows, and that is typically what causes all lows, insulin you inject.

    You were kidding tho, right?

  • bau06109 says:

    32 isint that much …
32 isint that much it depends on age activity etc i used to be on 32 when i was between 18 and 20

  • DiabetesGirl3145 says:

Well, if you go low …
Well, if you go low with insulin injections, then you are obviously producing insulin. I don’t know, but you probably don’t have diabetes anymore. I don’t know how, maybe it is just a miracle.

  • rankinreddevils says:

    Not trying to be …
Not trying to be rude but are you serious or trying to make a joke. I have had it for almost three months but like i said i set up a appointment to see doc since i went to the diabetes center and they told me to stop since i was always at 60 with insulin. If i am on the honeymoon period or anybody might have suggestions please let me know because i have not taken medicine in a week and have still been low with bad foods. Like i said i dont mean to sound mean or anything but i will look it up

  • DiabetesGirl3145 says:

    That is strange. I …
That is strange. I did read an artical about a cat who was diognosed early and responded well to insulin and was able to beat diabetes. Look up ‘The Mystirious case of the Fake Diabetes’ in google.

  • rankinreddevils says:

    Supposedly right …
Supposedly right now i am but normally i would take that much insulin and now i havent in a week. I have not taken any insulin in a week since i would get down to 60 and feel bad. Now i have ate horrible and still wont get over 110. I scheduled a appointment but that is still some time from now. I am type 1 diabetic so what do yall think?

  • rankinreddevils says:

    I am type 1 …
I am type 1 diabetic. I havent took any insulin since this past monday. Normally since i am still getting use to everything the doctors had me on 7 units 3x a day of humalog and 32 units at night on lantus. But they think that i am on the honeymoon period since i havent took any insulin in a week and have am always low now. At first i struggled getting use to what i need to eat. First week after the hospital i was always 150-250 now no more than 90 . what do yall think?

  • DiabetesGirl3145 says:

    You take 32 untits …
You take 32 untits of lantus?!?!?! That is alot, are you sure that you are in your honeymoon period?

  • DiabetesGirl3145 says:

    Are you diabetic, …
Are you diabetic, if so, type 1 or type 2? Type 2 diabetes is reversable.
